The American Institute of Pakistan Studies (AIPS), established in 1973, is a bi-national research and education organization with a mission to promote academic study of Pakistan in the US and to encourage scholarly exchange between the US and Pakistan.

It is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt, autonomous organization and a member of the Council of American Overseas Research Centers.

Call for Applications – AIPS 2017 Short-term/Summer Research Grants to Pakistan!!

AIPS is delighted to announce Short-term/Summer Research Grants to Pakistan for 2017. This grant is open to those who are affiliated with an academic institution in the US, regardless of citizenship. US citizen applicants will be required to conduct research in either Islamabad or Lahore. All research must be conducted by December 31, 2017. It is assumed that grantees will spend one to three months in Pakistan conducting research on this award.

The American Institute of Pakistan Studies and the Berkeley Urdu Language Program in Pakistan invite applications for appointment as a Program Manager to coordinate their semester-long intensive Urdu language program. The appointment is for five months (August – December, 2017).
