Funding for Virtual Programs

AIPS has funds available for virtual research presentations and discussions. Applicants must be an individual AIPS member or from an AIPS member institution. Please see below for details on funding:

-  $500: for an AIPS member giving a stand-alone virtual talk about Pakistan at a conference or workshop.
-  $300: for an AIPS member participating as a discussant on a panel about Pakistan at a virtual conference or workshop.
-  $200 (equivalent rupees): for a non-AIPS member from Pakistan to give a standalone talk or be a discussant at a virtual conference or workshop organized by an AIPS member and about Pakistan.

AIPS members can organize or be part of virtual events that originate in Pakistan, the U.S., or third-country locations.

AIPS Board members, Officers, and Executive Committee members can apply for these funds but, due to CAORC ethics rules, are not eligible for honorariums themselves. Members (both institutional and individual) who are not a Trustee, Officer, or EC member are eligible for honorariums.

If you are interested, please send the following documents to aips@pakistanstudies-aips.org:

AIPS Members
- A statement of how the presentation/panel furthers the study of Pakistan (including a line that you are not otherwise getting an honorarium).
- A copy of the actual paper/panel proposal.
- An acceptance letter from the organizer.
- A CV.

Pakistani Non-AIPS Members
- A statement of how the presentation/panel furthers the study of Pakistan (including a line that you are not otherwise getting an honorarium).
- A copy of the actual paper/panel proposal.
- An acceptance letter from the organizer.
- A CV.
