Dr. Kamran Asdar Ali, Co-Editor-in-Chief of Critical Pakistan Studies, was recently featured in a video where he presented his aspirations for Critical Pakistan Studies to be a high-standard, first-rate, and top-tier interdisciplinary source of information on Pakistan. Critical Pakistan Studies is a new open-access journal published with the support of Cambridge University Press that tackles broader interdisciplinary issues in addition to Pakistan and Pakistanis.

Summary: AIPS sponsored the panel "Writing Pakistan: Literature, Nationhood, and Identity" at the 2021 Annual Conference on South Asia. The panel, organized by Mushtaq Bilal (PhD candidate, Binghamton University) investigated the relationship between Pakistani literature, nationhood, and identity by bringing together established scholars and graduate students working on Pakistani literature. US scholars on the panel included Dr. Ambreen Hai, Dr. Ulka Anjaria, Sameera Abbas, Dr. Rajendar Kaur, Zain Mian, and Mushtaq Bilal. Muneeza Shamsie joined virtually from Pakistan to participate in the presentation. Read the final report here.
