AIPS Member's Paper Receives Prestigious Research Student Award in Europe

Simon Wolfgang Fuchs (Graduate Student, Princeton University) published two articles last year that explore the travel of ideas between the Middle East and South Asia with a special focus on Shi'ite thought (see member publications section). Additionally, his paper “It's not the Economy: Doctrines, Politics and the Transnational in Pakistan's Sunnī-Shīʿī Sectarianism” was selected for one of three Research Student Awards during the 23rd European Conference on South Asian Studies last July in Zurich/Switzerland. After finishing his PhD at Princeton this coming summer, Simon plans to continue working on the interconnectedness of South Asia and the Middle East as a Junior Research Fellow at Gonville and Caius College at the University of Cambridge (UK).
