The American Institute of Pakistan Studies (AIPS), established in 1973, is a bi-national research and education organization with a mission to promote academic study of Pakistan in the US and to encourage scholarly exchange between the US and Pakistan.

It is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt, autonomous organization and a member of the Council of American Overseas Research Centers.

2015-16 AIPS Fellowship Applications Now Open!

AIPS is now accepting applications for 2015 Short-Term and 2015-16 Long-Term Fellowships! The Deadline for both applications is: January 1, 2015 at 11:59 PM (CST).

Short-Term Fellowship: AIPS is delighted to announce another round of Short-Term Fellowships is now open for applications! **Please note that due to the grant deadline, travel must be completed or nearly completed by August 31st, 2015.

AIPS Sponsors a 2015 Workshop in Islamabad

AIPS is sponsoring a workshop in Islamabad organized by AIPS Trustees & Individual Members Matthew Cook and David Gilmartin, in addition to Zulfiqar Ali Kalhoro. The conference titled: “Locally Sourced in Pakistan: Recovering the Local in History, Culture, and Politics” will take place July 26-27, 2015. Learn more about this workshop through their proposal.
