Welcome to AIPS

The American Institute of Pakistan Studies (AIPS), established in 1973, is a bi-national research and education organization with a mission to promote academic study of Pakistan in the US and to encourage scholarly exchange between the US and Pakistan.

It is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt, autonomous organization and a member of the Council of American Overseas Research Centers.

AIPS is Accepting Dissertation Workshop Leader and Travel Grant Proposals

The American Institute for Pakistan Studies is pleased to announce an open call for dissertation workshop leader and travel grant proposals for 2012.

AIPS Announces 2011-2012 Fellowship Awardees

The American Institute of Pakistan Studies has announced twelve fellowship awardees for the 2011-2012 academic year: five regular fellowships and seven short-term fellowships.

AIPS Hosts International Conference January 2012

The American Institute of Pakistan Studies will be hosting an international conference on archaeology and cultural heritage in Pakistan January 5th through the 7th, 2012 at the Margalla Hotel in Islamabad. The conference is sponsored by AIPS with support from the US Embassy and in collaboration with the Department of Archaeology and Museums, the Ministry of National Heritage and Integration, and the Government of Pakistan.
