The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at LUMS invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor (tenure-track) position in the areas of Social/Cultural Anthropology and Sociology. The successful candidate will be required to teach undergraduate students (three courses a year), achieve and maintain high standards of research, and provide input for the development and expansion of the Anthropology and Sociology Major at LUMS.
The successful candidate should have a strong grasp of the basics of teaching undergraduate students in Anthropology and/or Sociology, including research methodology and social and anthropological theory. S/he should be willing to introduce new areas of teaching and research in addition to teaching core and introductory courses. PhD is required at the time of appointment.
