Paper Presented by AIPS member Elena Bashir
This exhibition showcases 30 images by 20 Pakistani photographers who in their work have aimed to capture the rich texture, beauty and dignity of contemporary life in Pakistan. The photographers are members of the Pakistan Photographers Group (PPG) and participated earlier this year in a competition to determine winning entries for this exhibition. The subjects presented in their photographs are people, young and old, in urban and rural settings, at work and at play as well as historic architecture, landscapes and uniquely Pakistani sports. Just as the 20 photographers introduced in this exhibition are individuals with their own identities, so the images conveyed will reflect their own individual visions of Pakistan's humanity.
