2015 Conference - Madison, WI

American Institute of Pakistan Studies invites abstracts for a conference on the study of Pakistan. This one-day conference will bring together junior scholars who are based primarily in the social sciences and the humanities in US academia. We encourage abstracts from (but not restricted to) disciplines such as anthropology, sociology, political science, history, literature, religious studies, art history, music, women studies, film and communications studies, etc.
- Graduate Students: Currently enrolled in a PhD program in a US academic institution and have ABD status, those writing their dissertations are specially encouraged to apply
- Post-Doctoral Candidates: PhD completed in 2012 or after and a current affiliation with a US university or college.
- There is no Citizenship Requirement.
*We regret any confusion, but the conference will only support scholars who are currently affiliated with a US academic institution.
Date and Venue
Thursday October 22, 2015 in Madison, Wisconsin (one day prior to the Annual Conference on South Asia)
For selected scholars (10-12 in total) AIPS has funds to supplement domestic US travel and to provide accommodations for two nights.
How to Apply:
Please submit an abstract (not exceeding 250 words, formatted in Microsoft Word) and a short formal bio or CV, which mentions your institution and disciplinary background. Graduate students should also submit a short letter from your supervisor attesting to your ABD status.
