The 34th Annual
Conference on South Asia will be held on October
6 - 9, 2005 at
the Madison
Concourse Hotel, 1 West Dayton
St., Madison, WI 53703.
The Conference is sponsored by the Center
for South Asia at
the University
of Wisconsin-Madison.
The Annual
Conference on South Asia attracts over 500 scholars and other
interested parties annually, who travel from a dozen countries
around the world and much of the United States including
Hawaii and Alaska. The conference features over 70 academic
panels and roundtables as well as association
meetings and special
events ranging from performances to film screenings.
Included each year are a noted Keynote
Speaker and a Plenary
Session Speaker.
Scholars,
professionals and practitioners with interest in any field
related to South Asia scholarship, are invited to propose
panel or single paper presentations on research or practice.
Examples of research can be in any of the following disciplines
such as: anthropology, architecture, art, history, literature,
politics, women’s studies, religious studies, or film
studies to name a few. Non-presenters are also invited to
attend.
