*** POLITICAL TRANSFORMATIONS IN PAKISTAN ***

A Conference Organized by the American Institute of Pakistan Studies
and South Asia Studies at The Johns Hopkins School of Advanced
 International Studies

 Saturday, March 29, 2008
1740 Massachusetts Ave NW, Washington, DC

This conference provides an important, timely forum where
authoritative scholars from both Pakistan and the United States
explore distinct arenas which affect political life in Pakistan.
Participants will help make sense of the myriad factors which are
affecting and catalyzing political transformations in this key U.S.
ally. Sessions will explore prospects for participatory democracy,
analyze the socioeconomic implications of current political
challenges, and offer substantive insights regarding policy
implications for both the United States and the global community.

Please RSVP to Naseem Bhandari at <southasia@jhu.edu> with your
 contact details and affiliation.
