The American Institute of Pakistan Studies (AIPS), established in 1973, is a bi-national research and education organization with a mission to promote academic study of Pakistan in the US and to encourage scholarly exchange between the US and Pakistan.

It is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt, autonomous organization and a member of the Council of American Overseas Research Centers.

AIPS signed an MoU with the Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination, Government of Pakistan!

AIPS is pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC), Government of Pakistan on May 16, 2018. We are very pleased to be moving forward with this MoU with the IPC and are excited about future programming to result from this partnership. AIPS Announces Call for 2018 Junior Scholars Conference!

American Institute of Pakistan Studies (AIPS) is pleased to announce its 2018 Junior Scholars Conference on Pakistan Studies, which will take place as a pre-conference to the 47th Annual Conference on South Asia. The conference will be held on Thursday October 11, 2018 in Madison, Wisconsin. This one-day conference is expected to bring together junior scholars who are based in the social sciences and the humanities, primarily in the US academia (there is no US citizenship requirement).

Call for submissions: 2017-2018 AIPS Book Prize!!

The American Institute of Pakistan Studies is soliciting books (single authored monographs, no edited volumes) published during the last three years, or nearly published books (galleys must be available) for the 2017-2018 AIPS book prize.

** Please note that this is an academic book prize (literary fiction/short stories are not appropriate for this prize) and only English language books are eligible at this time.**
